BQS Mobile Vacuum Excavator
In 2023 BQS Management Services made a game-changing purchase that will revolutionise the way we work in confined environments. Our new Mobile Vacuum unit, built by Angus Brummitt-Brown and his team at Innovo Hub Ltd, is an effective solution that will help us minimise the potential for service strikes while being able to excavate up to 2m deep in a safe and efficient manner.
We are proud to be the very first company to take this step and purchase one of their excellent bits of kit for Highways and Construction works.
The Mobile Vacuum unit is available in 240 or 110 V options, and it can be easily maintained and taken apart for transport or storage. Moreover, it can also use power sources from vehicles.
The Mobile Vacuum unit offers a cost-effective solution that is ideal for excavating in confined environments. While it may not be suitable for digging huge drainage trenches in open green sites or digging through clay, it’s clear and obvious uses come to the fore in situations where access is restricted or where the cost of larger units is prohibitive.
Tilmore Gardens, Petersfield
We recently used our cutting-edge small vacuum excavator for a recent project in a private garden which has proven to be a game-changer, showcasing its incredible capabilities.

We faced an intricate trenching project to repair a damaged drain, filled with stubborn roots that rendered manual excavation nearly impossible. The compact garden environment posed an additional challenge, requiring a solution that would minimise disruption to the residents.

With its precision engineering and powerful suction, our team efficiently cleared the trench, effortlessly navigating through the stubborn root network. This not only saved valuable time but also preserved the root network which allowed our arboriculturist to inspect the roots prior to safe removal.
We're incredibly proud of this achievement and grateful for the trust Milestone Infrastructure and Hampshire County Council placed in us.
This project underscores the immense value of innovation in the excavation industry. Our small vacuum excavator showcased how technology can transform seemingly impossible tasks into achievable feats. The more conventual and larger excavation units would not have been able to access the location of this job. Traditional excavators would have caused potential damage to the root network.
We are committed to ensuring that no service is struck due to the perceived cost or inaccessibility of a safe means of vacuum excavation. With the introduction of our new Mobile Vacuum unit, we confidently send a clear message that we take the safety of our employees, our clients, and the public very seriously.
At BQS, we strive to lead the way in health, safety, and innovation, and this latest purchase is a testament to that. We are proud to offer our customers a cost-effective, safe, and efficient solution that minimises the potential for service strikes and ultimately enhances customer satisfaction.
